Top 5 Scenic Bike Rides in Echuca Moama
Local directions and tips from David & Suzanna at Green Pedal Cycles · Updated 2026
Echuca Moama is one of the best places in regional Victoria for easy, scenic cycling. The trails are mostly flat, the river views are excellent, and you can stop for coffee or wine without riding far.
Here are five of our favourite rides — all suitable for most fitness levels, especially on an e-bike. We include clear start points and practical tips so you can enjoy them yourself or join one of our guided tours.
Echuca Scenic Trail
Distance: about 5 km loop · Difficulty: Easy · Suitable for all ages
A gentle riverside loop that shows off the best of the Murray and Campaspe meeting. You’ll ride through native bushland, often spot kangaroos grazing, hear kookaburras, and see historic paddle steamers on the river.
Start: Near Victoria Park on Crofton Street. The path is well signposted and mostly sealed or smooth gravel.
After the ride, Wren Courtyard Café and the Port Ice Creamery on High Street are both excellent. Families often finish at Hopwood Gardens for a play.

Ride to St Anne’s Winery & 3 Black Sheep
Distance: ~10 km return · Difficulty: Easy
One of the most popular self-guided rides. Start on Murray Esplanade in the historic Port, cross into Moama, and follow quiet tracks and back roads to St Anne’s Winery for a complimentary tasting. You can also stop at 3 Black Sheep for coffee or a meal.
There are pleasant detours to Moama Beach and Horseshoe Lagoon. The return over Dhungala Bridge gives great river views.
Join our guided Bike to Winery Tour most afternoons ($85) — e-bike, guide and tasting included. Bookings essential.
Riverbank Restaurant Ride (Moama)
Distance: ~10 km · Difficulty: Easy
A relaxed ride over the bridge into Moama, following shared tracks and quiet streets to the Riverbank Restaurant & Café inside Moama Waters Holiday Park. Excellent food, cakes and a proper Murray River outlook. Check opening hours (especially weekends) and book ahead if possible.
The route is almost entirely sealed or good gravel and works well on a standard bike or e-bike.
Banyule Forest Ride
Difficulty: Easy to moderate · Best on e-mountain or comfortable e-bike
A peaceful local favourite. Start behind the Echuca Aquatic Reserve on Heygarth Street and head into Banyule Forest. There is a network of winding tracks; one of the nicest follows the Murray River to Chinamen’s Bend — a quiet sandy riverbank perfect for a rest and watching paddle boarders.
You can return via Middle Track or the levee bank. For a longer outing, continue to Cape Horn Winery (wood-fired pizza and live music on many weekends).
Post-ride coffee recommendation: The Bee Keeper’s Table on High Street in the Port area.
Campaspe River Ride
Distance: about 5 km · Difficulty: Easy · Great for families
Start at Lions Park on Campaspe Esplanade (off Ogilvie Avenue). Follow the sealed shared path along the Campaspe through bushland, past footbridges and birdlife (including possum glider nesting boxes).
At Warren Street Bridge you have options: cross to the east side, loop back, or continue toward the Dhungala Bridge into Moama. Keep a bike bell handy as the path is popular with walkers and joggers.
Finish with coffee and a pastry at Moama Bakery in Crossenvale Village if you’re on that side of the river.
